Leadership Notes
Leadership should be a beautiful and harmonious exchange of energy promoting a “give and give” relationship.
There are leaders who believe leadership is dictatorship: I tell you what to do and you do it…no questions asked. The problem with this is you only get individuals who I would call “work trolls”. These individuals show up, do the job and go home. There’s no loyalty or ownership in the vision or the overall goal.
In my experience, a person who doesn’t want to be questioned ( just wants you to perform) is doomed to fail. When you don’t value people, it’s evident and makes for an unhealthy work environment and individuals who will never go the extra mile.
If you’re a leader and you’ve been pointing and telling others what to do without acknowledging them as people with gifts and talents to bless you, change now. Otherwise, you’ll continue to have the revolving door and you’ll always have a ceiling on your growth.
